The crus of Beaujolais
This page shows the appellation vineyards of Beaujolais on top of satellite imagery, from the Mâconnais to the outskirts of Lyon: 88 communes in the Rhône and Saône-et-Loire. The boundaries are the official ones from INAO's Délimitation parcellaire des AOC viticoles (INAO is the French body that defines the appellations), updated on 21 September 2026.
Beaujolais has three tiers: the regional Beaujolais AOC, the Beaujolais-Villages mention and ten crus, communal appellations all in the north. A cru vineyard may also be declared as Villages or Beaujolais. The map colours each plot with its highest appellation and, when you click it, lists all the others.
How to read it
Cru : 10 appellations, 7,609 ha delimited, 5,782 ha declared in 2023. The label shows the cru on its own, for example Morgon or Fleurie, and may add the name of the lieu-dit.Beaujolais-Villages : 8,716 ha delimited outside the crus, in 38 northern communes. In 27 of them the wine may carry the commune name after “Beaujolais”.Beaujolais : 23,928 ha delimited where no cru or Villages applies, mostly in the southern Pierres Dorées and the Azergues valley.
Delimited areas are much larger than the vineyards: in 2023 the harvest declarations add up to about 12,460 ha across the twelve appellations, against more than 40,000 delimited hectares.

Lieux-dits and premiers crus
In the crus and in Villages the name of a cadastral lieu-dit may appear on the label, in smaller type than the appellation: Morgon Côte du Py, Moulin-à-Vent Champ de Cour, Fleurie La Madone. The Lieux-dits button shows the cadastral names inside the crus and Villages; clicking a vineyard gives the lieu-dit at that point.
Beaujolais has no premiers crus yet: the September 2026 INAO delimitation contains none. Fleurie applied in 2023 for seven lieux-dits (La Chapelle des Bois, Les Garants, Grille-Midi, La Madone, Les Moriers, Poncié and La Roilette); Brouilly and Moulin-à-Vent prepared their files in 2024, and Côte de Brouilly and Juliénas are working on theirs. The INAO procedure can take more than ten years.

This map is for information only and has no legal value. As INAO itself states, the official delimitations available at town halls or from INAO prevail, and not all parcel delimitations have been digitised yet.
Outlines are simplified by a few metres to keep the map light: to check a single parcel, turn on the Cadastre layer and click the vineyard.
Areas: the hectares on the map are delimited areas, the land INAO admits to the appellation. The areas under vine shown in the cards are those declared in the 2023 harvest declarations (French customs).
Besides the Beaujolais appellations, some plots also allow Bourgogne, Coteaux Bourguignons, Crémant de Bourgogne, Mâcon or Saint-Véran: the card lists them when they are in INAO's digital delimitation. In the Rhône the digital delimitation of Bourgogne and Coteaux Bourguignons is not available, although the specifications allow them in parts of Beaujolais.
Lieux-dits names come from the cadastre (DGFiP) and are shown without accents; not every cadastral lieu-dit matches a name used on labels.
Elevation, aspect, slope and sun are estimates computed from a terrain model of about 13 m.
The owner shown for a parcel comes from the DGFiP file of legal entities: it appears only when the parcel belongs to a company or an institution. The owner is who owns the land, not necessarily who farms the vineyard or makes the wine. Holdings of private individuals are not public and are not shown.
